Hewes Pictures is revving up the terror with a fan reaction teaser for I HEART WILLIE, and if the screams from the Mexico City screening are any indication, audiences are in for a blood-soaked nightmare. This Steamboat Willie-inspired slasher from Alejandro G. Alegre made its world premiere at Morbido Film Fest, where the theater erupted in screams, gasps, and sheer panic. Now, with just days until its One Night Only® theatrical event on February 26th, 2025, a new fan reaction teaser has dropped—showcasing just how intense this twisted reimagining really is.
The film follows popular YouTubers Daniel and Nico, who investigate a haunted property tied to a horrifying legend. The story centers around a boy born with deformities, resembling a human-mouse hybrid, rumored to have inspired Walt Disney’s Steamboat Willie. Abused and isolated, the boy—now known as Willie—eventually turns his torment into terror, creating a bodysuit from the skins of trespassers. His gruesome legend fades into obscurity, until a series of new disappearances brings it back into the spotlight. As Daniel and Nico set up their ghost-hunting spectacle, they quickly realize they’re not just filming a haunting—they’re part of one.
After the Mexico City screening, fans were left breathless, with many calling it one of the most disturbing horror films in years. The teaser captures the genuine terror in the room, proving that I HEART WILLIE isn’t just a fun reimagining—it’s nightmare fuel.
Produced by Princeton Holt (2050) and David Vaughn (American Rust), I HEART WILLIE was shot entirely in Michoacán, Mexico, with a local cast and crew delivering an authentic horror experience. Vaughn also stars as Willie, alongside Maya Luna, Micho Camacho, Sergio Rogalto, and Daniela Porras.
