Paramount+'s PET SEMATARY: BLOODLINES at Fantastic Fest 2023




For those eagerly awaiting a prequel to the classic horror film "Pet Sematary," the wait is finally over. PARAMOUNT+ has recently announced the latest addition to the "Pet Sematary" franchise, titled "Pet Sematary: Bloodlines." This installment, described as the "untold chapter" from Stephen King's best-selling novel, delves into the origins of the malevolent forces that haunted the small town of Ludlow, Maine.


We are pleased to share that we will have the opportunity to witness this chilling prequel during our time in Austin next weekend, with a wealth of updates leading up to the world premiere.






Synopsis:

Set in 1969, "Pet Sematary: Bloodlines" follows the young Jud Crandall, who yearns to escape his hometown of Ludlow, Maine. However, he soon uncovers sinister secrets buried within the town's history, forcing him to confront a dark family legacy that forever binds him to Ludlow. Joined by his childhood friends, Jud must confront an ancient evil that has plagued Ludlow since its inception, a malevolence that, once awakened, possesses the power to annihilate everything in its path. Based on an untold chapter from Stephen King's novel, this spine-chilling prequel unravels the origins of the town's macabre relationship with death.


Directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer, the film is written by Lindsey Anderson Beer and Jeff Buhler and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian in association with Paramount Pictures' Players Label.
