Ricky Burchell’s The 6th dives into corruption and justice, premiering March 4 as part of Black Excellence Month.

Breaking Glass Pictures has announced the worldwide release of The 6th, the ninth feature from acclaimed filmmaker Ricky Burchell, set to premiere on March 4, 2025, as part of the company’s Black Excellence Month programming. The film’s release highlights the powerful impact of Black filmmakers in the industry while delivering an intense and thought-provoking crime thriller.

The 6th follows Marcus Coles, an attorney deeply committed to defending the 6th Amendment, which guarantees the right to a fair trial. When Coles takes on the case of a police officer falsely accused of stealing evidence, he unknowingly steps into the middle of a corruption ring that operates far beyond the walls of the courthouse. As he digs deeper, the threats against him intensify, and the line between justice and survival becomes dangerously thin. With betrayals at every turn, Coles must race against time to uncover the truth before it’s too late.

Blending gripping suspense, legal drama, and high-stakes action, The 6th is a bold entry into the indie crime thriller scene, further cementing Ricky Burchell’s reputation as a filmmaker who brings socially relevant and engaging stories to the screen. As part of Breaking Glass Pictures’ Black Excellence Month lineup, the film not only entertains but also shines a light on systemic corruption and the ongoing fight for justice.

The 6th premieres on digital platforms March 4, delivering an electrifying story where the pursuit of truth comes at a dangerous cost.
