One of our favorite creature features from last year’s festival circuit is finally clawing its way to screens. Remember that teeth-filled monster movie starring Ted Lasso’s Cristo Fernández? The Killgrin is heading to select theaters and digital platforms on April 25th, courtesy of Dark Sky Films.
Written and directed by Joanna Tsanis (Bloody Bites), The Killgrin introduces a bold new vision of terror. The story follows Miranda (Fernández) in the aftermath of a personal tragedy, as she turns to unconventional self-help methods to heal. But when a spiritual healer informs her that she’s infected with a parasitic force feeding on her grief—an entity known as a “Killgrin”—she’s thrown into a spiraling nightmare.
At first skeptical, Miranda seeks comfort in group therapy, only to realize that those around her are meeting increasingly gruesome ends. The Killgrin thrives on misery, and it might not be done with her yet.
