"The Monkey" debuts teaser from Neon and Osgood Perkins adapted from the Stephen King Short

Osgood Perkins' latest creation, "The Monkey," is heading to theaters in February 2025, brought to you by Neon. We previously shared some initial details about the film, and now, Neon has released a teaser for this James Wan-produced project, which is based on a short story by Stephen King.





The teaser offers a chilling glimpse of the film’s central figure—a toy antique monkey, rhythmically beating on a drum. The tension builds with a brief shot of Theo James, covered in blood, before revealing the film’s release date: February 21st.



With several months remaining before its release, we can expect the marketing for "The Monkey" to ramp up soon. In the meantime, check out the teaser for an early look at what’s to come.


"The Monkey." Based on Stephen King's short story of the same name, the film follows twin brothers who find an antique toy monkey that bangs cymbals. The original story appeared in the book Skeleton Crew and was nominated for a British Fantasy Award.



Directed by Osgood Perkins and produced by James Wan, the film stars Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, Elijah Wood, Christian Convery, Colin O'Brien, Rohan Campbell, and Sarah Levy. Additional producers include Michael Clear, Dave Caplan, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Chris Ferguson.



"The Monkey" will be released in theaters on February 21, 2025.
