The Woman in the Yard Brings Her Haunting Presence Home on Digital and Blu-ray
Still terrifying audiences in theaters, Blumhouse’s supernatural thriller The Woman in the Yard is already preparing for its next scare—your living room.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows, Orphan), the film officially hits digital platforms to own or rent on April 15, with a Blu-ray™ and DVD release set for May 27, 2025, from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. For those who missed its theatrical run—or need to experience the dread all over again—this release comes stacked with exclusive bonus features that dig deeper into the film’s mythology and production.
The story centers on Ramona, played by Danielle Deadwyler (Till, I Saw the TV Glow), who, while grieving the loss of her husband, is confronted by a terrifying presence: a mysterious woman dressed in black who begins appearing in her front yard. With no explanation and no sign of retreat, the woman’s slow, spectral advance forces Ramona into a psychological battle to protect her children from an evil she doesn’t understand.
“When the sun is bright and the wind is still, she comes to you like a sudden chill. Draped in black from head to toe—how she got there, you’ll never know.”
Written by Sam Stefanak (F Is for Family), The Woman in the Yard stars a powerhouse ensemble including Okwui Okpokwasili, Peyton Jackson, Estella Kahiha, and Russell Hornsby. With production from Blumhouse (of The Invisible Man and The Black Phone), the film has been one of the most polarizing horror releases of the year, earning praise for its atmosphere, pacing, and quietly terrifying antagonist.
The home entertainment release includes two exclusive bonus features available only through participating retailers:
• Making The Woman in the Yard – A behind-the-scenes deep dive into the collaboration between cast and crew as they shape a story that is both haunting and grounded.
• Beneath the Veil – A closer look at the film’s spectral figure, including design inspirations, thematic breakdowns, and what truly makes her so unsettling.
You can find the digital release on Apple TV, Fandango at Home (formerly Vudu), Xfinity, Cox, Microsoft Movies & TV, and Movies Anywhere.
The Woman in the Yard comes to Blu-ray and DVD on May 27, and don’t be surprised if we drop a few giveaway codes on our socials and Patreon soon. Keep your curtains closed and your alerts on. She’s not done yet.
